Hello!

I’m Joe Reilly (he/him/his), a life long Iowan, 20 year Iowa Citian and a 15 year resident of Johnson County Supervisor District 5, with my husband, John!


  • Support Johnson County employees in all their work.

  • Strengthen the things that make Johnson County a great place to live. Maintain infrastructure, protect water, and support resident services.

  • A common sense approach to the County’s budget. Support existing services and find ways to best collaborate with area non-profit partners.

    Director of Operations and Nighttime Initiatives

    Creating connections business to business, businesses to City/County resources and visitors to businesses.

    Program Oversight such as the Downtown Gift Card, Nightlife Employee Recognition, Downtown Delivers, Downtown literature and listings promoting the arts & nightlife culture.

    Collaboration with stake holders and partners at the University, City, Community Crisis, Public Safety, Community & Family Resources, Public Health, Greater Iowa City Inc. and Think Iowa City.

What areas are included in District 5?

Each district will have their own set of candidates on the ballot for Johnson County Board of Supervisors and only voters from that district can vote for them.

This includes the primary election on June 2, 2026 and the general election on November 3, 2026.


Voting precincts Iowa City 02, 03, 07, 08, 09, 10-East Lucas SW, 13, 14, 26, 27, University Heights and West Lucas are Johnson County Board of Supervisors District 5 Voters.
